GMCA Meeting on Friday

This Friday's GMCA meeting has been moved from Bolton to Manchester.

Portfolio: Economy

Sir Richard Leese, has been appointed Deputy Mayor and will lead on business and economy issues.

Local Industrial Strategy

Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the UK Government have agreed to work together to develop one of the country’s first modern local industrial strategies. The Greater Manchester Local Industrial Strategy will outline a set of long-term policy priorities to help guide industrial development and provide a joint plan for good jobs and growth in Greater Manchester.

Good Employer Charter

We are currently developing a Greater Manchester Good Employer Charter to support employers to reach best practice, helping them to grow and provide the good jobs we need. You can shape the charter and the way it will work.

Supporting Greater Manchester businesses

There are around 105,000 companies in our area. But we want more! So we're making it easier to set up new enterprises, and are helping existing businesses develop and grow. We are working alongside the Manchester Growth Company (MGC) to bring trade, investment and growth to Greater Manchester and we're helping people get the skills and training they need to get started.

Business Growth Hub

The Business Growth Hub, part of The Growth Company, was set up in 2011 and has since helped thousands of businesses across Greater Manchester. They support businesses at all stages of their growth journey with a broad range of services including expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes and access to finance advice.

Business Advisory Panel

The panel’s members will advise the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Business & Economy, Sir Richard Leese, on actions they feel the city-region should be taking on issues affecting business.  The panel has representation from each of Greater Manchester 10 boroughs and membership is evenly split between women and men.
