Artist of the Month - Privacy Notice


Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) will collect your name and contact information i.e. your email address so that we can confirm the nomination you make is genuine and so that we can contact you about the nomination throughout the process of nomination, shortlisting and if successful award of Artist of the Month. 

We will rely on your consent for us to process your information in this way. Therefore, if you want us to stop using your information as part of this process you can contact us to ask us to stop. The impact of this, however, may mean that the artist you nominate may need to be nominated by someone else, unless of course you are the artist and in that instance we will remove your nomination from the process. 

We will keep your information for a period of up to twelve months from the month of entry. This will enable us to track nominations and who they are from and process any concerns or complaints we may receive. 

We will also keep your information for that time to support the sharing of additional opportunities that may arise that GMCA can promote you or your act for, if you do not wish us to do so, please indicate this. The information we collect about you will be shared with the members of the Greater Manchester Music Commission and the BBC for the purposes of shortlisting and announcing artist of the month.

If chosen as Artist of the Month, your entry will be promoted by BBC Radio Manchester (privacy notice) and the Mayor of Greater Manchester, and your details will be shared with Co-op Live (privacy notice).

After a twelve-month period, we will remove your contact information from our files and no longer store it. GMCA reserve the right to remove any nominees from the selection process after submission where there is due reason to do so.
