Greater Manchester health and social care meetings to be live-streamed
From Friday 18 December, monthly meetings of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Strategic Partnership Board will be publicly accessible and streamed live over the internet.
Friday’s meeting at Manchester Town Hall, where Board members will discuss the long-term vision for better health and social care services in Greater Manchester, will be the first meeting to be open to the public to attend in person and live-streamed via the GMCA website from 10am
Future meetings of the Board, which is the decision-making body responsible for Greater Manchester’s health and social care system, will also be open to the public, with provisional dates scheduled for Friday 29 January, Friday 26 February and Friday 18 March.
Lord Peter Smith, lead on health and social care for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, said: “These are exciting times for Greater Manchester as we look to realise a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to improve the health, wealth and wellbeing of the region’s 2.8 million residents.
“We are very keen to ensure the public are as engaged as possible in the complicated process to bring together the delivery of health and social care services. We therefore hope that by making these meetings publicly accessible, both in person and online, we are helping to ensure decisions made are as transparent and accountable as possible.”
Details of all meetings will be made available via the GMCA’s website, which publishes meeting agendas, minutes and reports.
