New service to help provide support to Greater Manchester’s night time economy
- Night Time Economy Office launches to help employers and employees with concerns and questions during the pandemic and beyond
- NTE Office has partnered with a range of organisations
- Support and advice to be offered conveniently and quickly
A new service has launched to help provide vital support to Greater Manchester’s night time economy.
With the Government this week announcing the roadmap to unlocking the economy, employers and employees in the night time economy now have more clarity on when they may be able to open their doors again.
However, the earliest any hospitality business we be able to open is April 12 when those able to do so will be able to serve people outdoors. Many more will not be able to open their doors until May 17 at the earliest and businesses such as nightclubs will need to wait until at least June 21 to begin trading.
The Night Time Economy Office will act as a signposting service for both employees and employers, allowing them to get the answers and direction they need in response to any concerns they have as we continue through the pandemic.
Questions can be asked via email or by sending a direct message on Twitter.
The office has partnered with a number of organisationsto provide bespoke support quickly to those who need it.
Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester, Sacha Lord, said: “The Prime Minister’s roadmap has provided some much-needed clarity and even hope for those working in Greater Manchester’s night time economy but there is still a long way to go and months until businesses can even partially start to open their doors again.
“That’s why we are launching this service. We want to make sure employers and employees can access the support they need and get answers to their questions and make sure as many as possible can open again later this year.
“Whether they want to ask about licensing, training or employment, mental health support or business innovation we will work to provide bespoke support quickly to those working in or running a business in the night time economy.
“The night time economy represents 10% of the whole UK workforce so it’s not just vital for the individual people and businesses but also Greater Manchester as a whole that we support them through the pandemic and beyond to reopen as quickly and safely as possible.”
