2022 Greater Manchester Civic and Community Leadership Programme

The 2022 Civic Leadership programme in collaboration with Operation Black Vote (OBV) (External link) aimed to equip talented individuals facing racial inequalities with the tools and knowledge to take up civic leadership positions.

Over six months, the participants took part in a series of training sessions to gain an insight into different areas of public life, including education, local government, health, policing, the criminal justice system and the voluntary sector.

The participants were given first-hand knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of civic and political life, and provided with the insight, skills, confidence and practical knowledge to move into these sectors.
