Homelessness
Homelessness is a key priority for the Mayor of Greater Manchester, affecting the lives of many across our region. At the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), we’re working to create lasting change.
Our homelessness team collaborates closely with all ten Greater Manchester councils to develop and support services that prevent and reduce homelessness. Through the opportunities offered by devolution, we’re helping to drive systemic change, shaping how homelessness is addressed both strategically and operationally across the region.
GMCA does not have a housing advice function and does not have statutory responsibility for the provision of advice and support around homelessness or delivery of rough sleeping services. The local councils retain legal responsibility for delivering homelessness services in their respective areas.
