Fully-funded training programmes launch to fast track residents into digital roles

Greater Manchester and Lancashire residents are invited to apply for free digital skills training programmes, which are now open for applications.

These new flexible programmes, which are part of the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund and funded by the Department for Education Digital Bootcamps, will fast track under-employed and unemployed residents into the industries most in demand jobs including Software Development and Cloud Engineering.

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership (LDSP) have today announced the four projects from across Greater Manchester and Lancashire that have been selected to receive funding, as part of the fourth round of the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund. 

The Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund is a joint venture between Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), GMCA and LDSP, developed to address locally identified digital skills gaps and support Greater Manchester and Lancashire residents with accessible routes into digital employment.  This Fund has been extended through the Department for Education Digital Bootcamps to maximise on this work, giving residents the opportunity to build up their digital skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer.

  • Your Journey through Tech: Dev-Ops Upskill’- Tech Returners

Your Journey through Tech: Dev-Ops Upskill’ is a 12-week part time course delivered flexibly supporting businesses to upskill their tech teams and individuals to progress.

  • ​Master: Coding- Code Nation

‘Master: Coding’ is a 12-week full time immersive coding bootcamp. Participants will learn the technical, commercial, and interpersonal skills required to become a fully work ready Junior Software Developer with a focus on extended reality. Please note the first cohort of this programme is already full, but will reopen for recruitment for the second cohort soon.
