Digitober 2020

Digitober 2020

In February, the GMCA launched the Greater Manchester Digital Blueprint. The blueprint sets out our 3 years aims as a digital city-region and aims to empower and enable people and businesses through innovation, integration, infrastructure, industry and inclusion to ensure that no-one is left behind.

As part of the Blueprint launch the GMCA made a commitment to continue to refresh the Blueprint to ensure it continues to stays relevant to residents and businesses alike.  It has been over six months since the Blueprint was launched, The GMCA Digital Team are therefore held Digitober to raise awareness and celebrate the work that has been done across the Greater Manchester Digital Sector.

We want to make sure that all residents and businesses across Greater Manchester can benefit from the opportunities that digital can bring, which is why we delivered Digitober a month of events and activities themed around digital inclusion. This pandemic has highlighted the importance of digital, tackling digital exclusion and the opportunity to do things differently. We used Digitober to raise awareness of the issues digital exclusion brings and get businesses thinking about what they can do to tackle it in Greater Manchester.
