Night Time Economy

We will make Greater Manchester one of the best places in the world to go out, stay out, work and run a business, between the hours of 6PM and 6AM.

The night time economy is a major part of Greater Manchester’s economy, with 358,000 people working in jobs or businesses that are significantly active at night. But the sector is struggling with the impact of a cost of doing business crisis, Brexit and the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, with the total number of NTE workers falling from 9.5 million in 2016 to 8.7 million in 2022. 

This makes the work of the Night Time Economy team, and the Night Time Economy Adviser, more important than ever.
